ABOUT THE ARTIST

Chris Wolfer is a fine artist, painter, illustrator and sculptor. He works in a variety of styles and media ranging from realistic landscape paintings to non-objective abstracts. Because of his love of the outdoors, much of his subject matter, color schemes and compositions are nature driven. His various art forms and styles allow him total freedom of expression.

Chris has taught art for 27 years in the NJ public school system from grade K to grade twelve. Teaching such an expansive range of grade levels has shaped who he is as a fine artist today. His teaching experience encouraged him to learn and experiment with many art forms,  media, and techniques and it has carried over into his own portfolio of work. Some of his favorite media are graphite, colored pencil, acrylic paint, watercolor and gouache. Chris’ realistic graphite drawings are wonderfully detailed and capture the essence of his subject. His rendering of form and texture are thoroughly engaging.
